United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Lead Structural Welder for the night shift at our Starbase launch site. The role focuses on welding piping, structural steel, and site equipment, with leadership of the welding team and coordination with cross-functional groups.

Requirements include 5+ years in structural welding, 3+ years in team leadership and pipe welding, and the ability to work nights and overtime as needed. Safety and quality are emphasized in a high-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 5+ years of structural welding experience.
• 5+ years of metal fabrication experience.
• 3+ years leading small weld teams.
• 3+ years of pipe welding experience.
• 1+ years at a launch, test, or production site.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in relation to welding and brazing.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and effective safety precautions.
• Knowledge of arc air procedures and equipment.
• Experience with standard tools, materials, motions, and practices of the welding trade.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to rapidly change roles in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and offer daily support to the welding team.
• Orient new team members; assign and reschedule tasks; manage daily work assignments.
• Coach, mentor, and train team members.
• Report status and issues to leadership and customers.
• Support leadership in de-escalation of conflict and enforce safety and quality standards.
• Complete welding assignments for construction and repair of site structures on time and safely.
• Coordinate work with flight control, fabrication, civil groups, and engineering.
• Collaborate to ensure proper weld procedures and materials are chosen for each project.
• Analyze drawings and specifications to plan welding operations when procedures are unavailable.
• Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, or certifications as required.
• Strive to improve operations and throughput; work cooperatively.
