Job summary

Sentry is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee Division 5 structural steel and miscellaneous-metals projects from contract award through final completion. This role coordinates detailing, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and field installation while maintaining project schedules, budgets, quality, and relationships.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or related project management.
• Ability to read structural and architectural drawings and specifications.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost tracking.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts, plans, specifications, addenda, and project scope.
• Identify scope gaps, schedule requirements, and potential project risks.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, submittal logs, and procurement plans.
• Coordinate shop drawings and engineering with steel detailers, engineers, architects, and general contractors.
• Review shop drawings for scope, constructability, field dimensions, and contract compliance before submission or fabrication.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, approvals, design changes, and drawing revisions.
• Release steel, hardware, joists, decking, stairs, railings, and other materials for purchasing and fabrication.
• Coordinate fabrication priorities and schedules with shop personnel.
• Plan deliveries and erection activities with field supervisors, erectors, crane providers, and general contractors.
• Track labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, and overall project costs.
• Identify extra work and prepare pricing, change-order requests, and supporting documentation.
• Review subcontractor and supplier proposals, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Attend project meetings and provide regular schedule and progress updates.
• Resolve fabrication, delivery, and field-installation issues promptly.
• Monitor quality-control requirements and applicable project specifications.
• Coordinate closeout documents, punch-list work, warranties, and final billing.
• Maintain organized and complete project records.
• Build professional working relationships with customers, vendors, engineers, and field personnel.
