Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Greenville, TX is seeking a Lead, Structural Engineering - ODA Unit Member to lead reviews and approvals of aircraft modification engineering and repairs for FAA certification. The role requires extensive aerospace structural analysis experience and FAA delegation familiarity.

The position emphasizes coordinating certification activities, rigorous drawing/reports review, and readiness to travel and obtain DoD clearance. On-site work is expected in Greenville, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with nine (9) years of Aerospace Structural and/or Stress analysis experience.
• Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of Aerospace Structural and/or Stress analysis experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of Aerospace Structural and/or Stress analysis experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Technical approval of structural aspects of aircraft modification and repairs, including drawings and substantiation reports.
• Coordinating certification activities with other structures Unit Members, other disciplines in the certification team, and with the engineering organizations seeking certification.
• Reviewing engineering drawings and reports to determine compliance with applicable criteria, including coordination with engineering to address deficiencies.
• FAA delegations in the structures discipline as either a DER or an ODA Unit Member.
• Must be able to travel as required. (estimated 10% or less)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Description

The ODA Engineering Unit Member will be responsible for reviewing and approving aircraft modification engineering and repairs on behalf of the FAA. An extensive background in aircraft structural analysis and exposure to a wide range of aircraft structural modifications is required. Current FAA delegations, either through an ODA or as an FAA DER.
