Job summary

Alpha Corporation seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead rehabilitation design of aerial structures and oversee structural assessments. You will evaluate conditions, develop repair solutions, and provide technical guidance throughout the design process.

You will plan inspections, review records, coordinate with the Project Manager, and prepare calculations and specifications to deliver practical, constructible solutions for transportation structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• 8-12 years of relevant Structural/Engineering experience.
• Experience evaluating and rehabilitating bridges or aerial structures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee structural field inspections and nondestructive testing activities.
• Review existing structural documents, records, and observed field conditions.
• Evaluate structural deterioration, condition, and performance.
• Develop repair, rehabilitation, and maintenance recommendations based on inspection findings.
• Prepare and/or review structural calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager and other engineering disciplines to develop practical and effective design solutions.
• Incorporate site access, facility operations, safety, phasing, and constructability considerations into design recommendations.
• Support the development of rehabilitation designs from field investigation through final documentation.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to address existing-condition challenges and rehabilitation constraints.
