Stonewall Structural Engineering in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Project Engineer III to lead the structural design of vertical structures across low- to mid-rise projects in a hybrid work environment.
You will evaluate loads, select materials, and develop drawings and calculations that meet codes. Expect collaboration with clients, architects, and contractors, site visits, and ownership of project outcomes.

Position Summary:
As a Project Engineer III, you will lead the structural design of safe, efficient, and cost-effective vertical structures across a range of low- and mid-rise building types. You will apply your technical judgment to evaluate loads, select appropriate materials and structural systems, and develop clear, coordinated drawings and calculations that meet project requirements and applicable building codes.
You will work closely with architects, owners, contractors, and engineering consultants to understand project goals, solve design challenges, and keep projects moving forward. Your role will also include reviewing construction documents, responding to questions during construction, and conducting site visits to confirm that the structural design is being implemented as intended.
This position is well suited for an engineer who is ready to take meaningful ownership of projects, strengthen client and project-team relationships, and continue developing both technical expertise and professional judgment.

This position is based in our Raleigh office and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance, as regular in-office collaboration is an important part of how we work. This role also includes periodic travel to project sites and client meetings throughout the region.
