Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, based in Texas, is seeking a Structural Dynamics Engineer II (Spacecraft) to own analysis, modeling, verification and validation of spacecraft dynamic environments and structural responses. The role focuses on random vibration, shock, acoustics, and CLA, ensuring structural integrity during launch and spaceflight.

Collaboration with structures, mechanisms, thermal, and systems teams is essential throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years in spacecraft or launch-vehicle structural dynamics.
• Experience with Craig-Bampton model reduction and CLA.
• Experience deriving dynamic environments and supporting environmental testing.
• Proficient in Nastran/Femap.
• Python or MATLAB for data analysis.
• Understanding of FFT/PSD and signal processing.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural dynamics analysis for spacecraft structures and components.
• Support definition and verification of dynamic environments (random vibration, shock, acoustics).
• Conduct test-analysis correlation using vibration and shock data.
• Develop and deliver technical documentation and presentations.
• Lead anomaly resolution and risk reduction during integration and test campaigns.
• Interface directly with launch vehicle teams on CLA requirements.
