Job summary

Levy Restaurants is seeking a Lead Steward at the University of Oklahoma with a tentative start in August. You will help maintain kitchen and warehouse areas, ensuring cleanliness and orderly storage of equipment and supplies.

Join a team focused on safety and efficiency. You will operate dishwashing and sanitation equipment, assist culinary staff, rotate stock, support banquet setups, and help with loading deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
• Operate large electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers.
• Assist culinary staff with safety and sanitation.
• Rotate and store food using FIFO method.
• Check delivery accuracy against invoices.
• Segregate and remove trash; clean containers and equipment.
• Wash dishes, posts, pans, utensils and other food prep equipment.
• Transport supplies between storage and work areas with safe lifting.
• Assist with banquet setup and front-of-house as requested.
• Load or unload and deliver supplies and products.
• Distribute supplies and portable equipment.
• Comply with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sweeps and mops floors at appropriate intervals to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Operates large electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers.
• Assists culinary staff as needed with safety and sanitation standards.
• Keep storage areas clean and organized and rotates food using FIFO method.
• Checks delivery accuracy by matching products with delivery invoice.
• Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans in appropriate and assigned areas.
• Washes dishes, posts, pans, utensils and other food preparation machines and equipment.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas observing all safe lifting standards.
• Assists with banquet table and front of the house set up as requested.
• Assist with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Complies with all outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
