Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Lead Sterile Processing Technician to oversee the SPD at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. This full-time weekend role covers Saturday, Sunday, and Monday shifts from 10:00am to 10:30pm, guiding a team and ensuring compliant sterilization workflows.

The ideal candidate holds a High School Diploma and CRCST or CSPDT certification, with 1–2 years in instrument handling, surgical instrumentation, and linen processing, plus familiarity with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years Instrument Experience.
• 1-2 years Surgical Instrumentation Experience.
• Linen Processing Experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of Prep and Sterile, leading and training SPD technicians and ensuring quality control.
• Participates in decontamination, inspection, cleaning and packaging of surgical linens, instruments and supplies.
• Maintains knowledge of all sterilization equipment and processes performed.
• Understands principles of sterilization and to select correct supplies for sterilization.
• Collaborates to prioritize duties for quality and efficiency.
