Job summary

Louisiana Public Service Commission, housed in the Office of Executive Counsel/Legal Division, seeks a Staff Attorney to assist the Deputy General Counsel in representing the Commission Staff. The attorney will lead docketed proceedings, ensure ratepayer interests are protected, and balance the utilities' interests.

A current Louisiana license to practice law is required. Responsibilities include attending meetings, drafting pleadings and discovery responses, and coordinating with subject matter

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana license to practice law.
• Working knowledge of federal and state utility laws.
• Staff experience in regulatory settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead attorney in all docketed proceedings before the Commission.
• Identify issues, develop strategies, and advise on Staff position.
• Attend meetings, status conferences, hearings, and coordinate accordingly.
• Draft and file all necessary legal pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts and outside counsel as needed.
• Prepare Orders and briefing materials for Commissioners.
