Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY seeks a Lead, Project Engineering to lead space system project teams delivering software and hardware development, integration and test efforts. You will oversee cost, schedule and technical tradeoffs and coordinate cross-functional reviews with customers and management.

Responsibilities include program leadership, risk management, earned value management, and collaboration with the product manager and Chief System Engineer to ensure timely, within-budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree with at least 6 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, at least 13 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of Space System project teams to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule.
• Develops, oversees, and coordinates cost, schedule and technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects per program guidelines.
• Review status of engineering projects and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare status reports.
• Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) or equivalent fiscal responsibility.
• Assess engineering issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality and customer-satisfaction goals.
• Identify, track, mitigate, manage, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities.
• Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
• Coordinate interdependencies within specific projects and with the greater Space Enterprise.
• Coordinate between project teams and resource managers to ensure necessary reviews and approvals are received.
• Participate in small teams and perform a wide variety of tasks.
• Maintain collaboration with customers on quick-reaction tasks/projects.
• Work with product managers and Chief System Engineers to plan risk mitigation and EVMS usage.
• Support proposals for new work in a growing business.
