Job summary

TRIDENT SYSTEMS LLC in Chantilly, VA seeks a Principal Integration & Test Engineer to lead development, integration, debugging, and verification of space payload systems. You will work across software, firmware, and electronics to ensure payload readiness for lab, environmental, and flight tests.

The ideal candidate has 9+ years in integration/test, experience with embedded systems, and strong debugging across hardware and software boundaries. Travel and lab work are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computer field.
• 9+ years of related experience in integration & test or avionics.
• Experience debugging across software, firmware, and electronics.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and test space payload hardware and software in multiple configurations.
• Debug across application software, embedded software, FPGA/firmware interfaces.
• Support payload electronics Bring-up and system checkouts.
• Investigate failures using telemetry, logs, and lab diagnostics.
• Document results and corrective actions for formal verification.
• Assist environmental and flight-like testing, including thermal/vacuum and vibration.
• Collaborate with design engineers to improve robustness.
• Maintain baselines and support configuration management.
