Job summary

Varda is seeking an experienced avionics systems engineer to join the Winnebago program in El Segundo. You will help design, integrate, and test avionics systems for spaceflight and reentry, collaborating with multiple engineering teams to ensure mission objectives are met.

You will develop electrical architecture, conduct verification, and support mission operations as an avionics specialist, while mentoring junior engineers and improving test automation.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in system design, test planning, and validation.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with power supplies, modular DAQ, RTD and 4-20mA devices, and general test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to define project scopes from concept to production.
• Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, channel count, size and mass.
• Analyze architecture for faults and risks; develop mitigation plans and workarounds for hardware limits.
• Create verification plans for avionics systems on flight and HITL hardware; ensure readiness for launch.
