Job summary

Peraton, Albuquerque, NM, seeks a Lead Solutions Architect for the HADES program to design and integrate satellite ground systems and mission operations in a high‑tempo, secure environment.

You will translate customer needs into scalable architectures, collaborate with government stakeholders and engineering teams, and ensure cybersecurity, cloud, and Zero Trust alignment across domains; TS clearance and SCI eligibility are required.

Qualifications

  • Requires Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to maintain clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or Management field with 12+ years of experience, or 10 years with Master’s, or 7 with PhD; four years in lieu of degree accepted.
  • Experience developing technical solutions for enterprise, cloud, or hybrid computing environments.
  • Experience supporting systems integration across software, infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity domains.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, system lifecycle processes, and architecture development.
  • Experience working with Government customers to define technical solutions and resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Strong understanding of satellite ground systems, command and control systems, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey technical concepts to engineering and Government stakeholders.
  • Understanding of DoD acquisition, contracting, finance, budgeting, and technical review processes.
  • Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate in secure, high-tempo environments.
  • Must possess an architecture or cloud certification (e.g., AWS/Azure/INCOSE CISSP) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Develop end-to-end technical solutions for satellite ground systems, mission operations, and enterprise services.
  • Translate operational and customer requirements into scalable system architectures and implementation strategies.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, cybersecurity, software development, and infrastructure teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with mission objectives.
  • Evaluate existing architectures and recommend modernization strategies for cloud, hybrid, and distributed environments.
  • Define integration approaches for new capabilities across mission systems, software, infrastructure, and external interfaces.
  • Support architecture reviews, technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and engineering working groups.
  • Identify technical risks, integration challenges, and architectural dependencies with mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure designs incorporate cybersecurity best practices, Zero Trust, and DoD security requirements.
  • Support development of technical documentation, architecture products, CONOPS, and engineering artifacts.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout implementation to align with objectives and customer requirements.

  • Experience developing technical solutions for enterprise, cloud, or hybrid computing environments.
  • Experience supporting systems integration across software, infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity domains.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, system lifecycle processes, and architecture development.
  • Experience working directly with Government customers to define technical solutions and resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Strong understanding of satellite ground systems, command and control systems, or other mission‑critical operational environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering and Government stakeholders.
  • Understanding of DoD acquisition, contracting, finance, budgeting, and technical review processes.
  • Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate in secure, high-tempo environments.
  • Must possess a relevant architecture or cloud certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, INCOSE CSEP/CSE, CISSP, or an equivalent industry-recognized technical certification.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree or advanced in a related technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting United States Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Command (SSC), or similar DoD space programs.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, containerized environments, DevSecOps, or digital engineering practices.
  • Experience with architecture modeling tools or MBSE methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture, RMF, and secure system design principles.

The Hybrid Architecture and Development for Experimental Systems (HADES) program is an exciting and cutting-edge initiative led by the U.S. Space Force, offering a unique opportunity to work on the forefront of space operations and technology. HADES focuses on the development, integration, and sustainment of prototype and operational satellite ground systems, satellite operations centers (SOCs), and critical support services. This program plays a vital role in supporting the Research and Development Space and Missile Operations (RDSMO) Ground System Enterprise (GSE) and is headquartered at the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) Support Complex (RSC) at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

As the Lead Solutions Architect, you'll lead the development of technical solutions that align mission requirements with scalable, secure, and integrated system capabilities. Working closely with Government stakeholders, program leadership, and engineering teams, you will translate operational needs into solution architectures supporting satellite ground systems, mission operations, and future technology modernization.
