Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Lead Software Quality Engineer for its Missouri site to lead process improvements and governance of software development and release cycles. The role requires driving metrics and quality across the end-to-end lifecycle and influencing teams in a matrix environment.

You will ensure compliance with process standards, audits, and corrective actions, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to elevate product quality and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
• At least 4 years of experience in software development, implementation and/or quality.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Strong understanding of Process Assurance activities, including Process Audits, Corrective and Preventative Actions.
• Strong team player and high personal energy and accountability.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Able to lead by influence while working in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Owns continuous improvement of process effectiveness and efficiency; supports engineering teams in developing, optimizing and implementing new processes while ensuring policy compliance.
• Leads operating rhythm to improve software First Pass Yield and defect escape rate.
• Acts as gatekeeper for software releases, ensuring process is followed and design rigor applied.
• Develops and maintains metrics for continuous improvement and measurement.
• Supports product and process improvement through detailed failure analysis for non-conformances and implementing compliant solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Observes that documented standards, processes, and procedures are followed.
