Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Software Development Manager for SageMaker Training to lead the team that builds model customization capabilities at scale. You will own the roadmap, hire and grow engineers, and partner with product managers to deliver in production.

The role focuses on distributed systems across large accelerator fleets, on‑call health, and operational metrics, with responsibilities spanning architectural decisions, talent development, and customer collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• 8+ years leading the definition and development of multi tier web services.
• Knowledge of the full SDLC practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and live-site operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers.

• Grow talent in the team, coach team members on growth areas and create promotion paths for strong performers.
• Communicate clearly with customers and collaborators to reduce ambiguity and mitigate risk.

• Build GenAI based distributed, multi‑tenant systems with clear state‑full/state‑less boundaries.
