Job summary

nLIGHT, located in Camas, WA, seeks a Software/Firmware Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team across firmware, software testing, data services, and web development. You will drive projects from feasibility to production, coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring on-time delivery for laser control systems and related applications.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in real-time software/firmware, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with Windows/.NET, C#, and C, plus

Qualifications

10+ years of software/firmware development in real-time environments.
Bachelor’s degree in EE, CompE, or CS, Physics or similar discipline.
5+ years of software product management and software process management (Agile and Waterfall).
Experience directing software engineering development activities and leading R&D through NPI Phases and Gates.
Familiar with Windows and .NET; comfortable with C# and C.
Experience with embedded systems development is desirable.

Responsibilities

Direct projects by leading multidisciplinary teams through development/NPI processes and risk/decision making.
Develop and build highly capable team members to deliver quality software products.
Develop and manage project plans including resources, schedule, and budget; report status to leadership.
Collaborate with partners to inform quarterly and annual planning processes.
Improve processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives across product development.
Escalate issues and balance cost/schedule/performance to manage risk.
