Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the Consumer and Community Banking division. You will be a core technical contributor, delivering trusted, scalable technology products in a secure environment and driving architecture across multiple business functions.

You will lead design sessions, review code, and help automate remediation to ensure operational stability, while mentoring teams and advancing new technologies across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s).
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes (cloud, AI/ML, mobile, etc.).
  • Knowledge of customization of Salesforce objects, fields, record types, profiles, permission sets, layouts, forms, validations, flows, alerts, approvals, reports, dashboards.
  • Conversant in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, FSC and OMNI Channel.
  • Strong Salesforce programming and administration concepts (LWC, Aura, Apex, Flows, Async Apex, Custom Metadata, Triggers, SOQL, Assignment Rules).
  • Knowledge of Salesforce APIs (REST, BULK) and integration capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches.
  • Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
  • Identifies opportunities to automate remediation to improve stability of applications and systems.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and teams to probe architectural designs and applicability for existing systems.
  • Leads communities of practice to drive adoption of new technologies.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market‑leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes‑oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading‑edge technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 8+ years applied experience
  • Hands‑on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Knowledge of customization of objects, fields, record types, profiles, permission sets, page layouts, dynamic forms, validation rules, flows, email alerts, approval processes, list views, reports and dashboards
  • Conversant in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and FSC along with good understanding of OMNI Channel
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce Programming and Administration concepts like Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura Components, Apex, Flows, Async Apex, Custom Metadata, Triggers, SOQL and Assignment rules
  • Knowledge of Salesforce APIs (REST API, BULK API) and its integration capabilities
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • In‑depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud knowledge is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Bitbucket and JIRA
