Commerce is seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Search to architect semantic and hybrid OpenSearch-powered search across its ecosystem. Based in Austin, you will lead the team, shape the roadmap, and ensure ultra-low latency under heavy traffic while mentoring engineers.

You’ll work with MySQL, Kafka, and microservices, integrating vector embeddings and neural search to deliver scalable, high-quality search experiences for our OpenCommerce platform.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep hands-on OpenSearch/Elasticsearch cluster experience.
• Experience with semantic and hybrid search using embeddings.
• Proficiency in strongly typed languages (Go/Scala/Java) and PHP.
• Experience with MySQL, Kafka/RabbitMQ, and microservices.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) in cloud environments.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineers.

Responsabilidades

• Architect semantic search capabilities using OpenSearch.
• Iterate, benchmark, and tune relevance and k-NN configurations.
• Own indexing pipeline with MySQL, Kafka/RabbitMQ, and microservices.
• Provide technical leadership and roadmap for the Search team.
• Ensure ultra-low latency and high-availability under heavy traffic.
