Job summary

MGC Diagnostics is seeking a Software Engineer in Saint Paul, MN to engineer software for the company’s computerized medical diagnostic systems, including design, integration, testing, release and maintenance.

The role requires a BS in computer science or related field, 5–7 years of software design/development experience, and proficiency in C#, .NET, C++, MFC, WPF and XAML, plus strong SQL Server and Windows OS skills. You will lead design efforts and coordinate module integration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in software design and development.
• Experience leading smaller projects/teams.
• Proficiency in C#, .NET, C++, MFC, WPF, XAML.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English.
• Strong proficiency with SQL Server.
• Proficiency in the following operating systems: Current Microsoft Windows OS.
• Independent, self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task, with several projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of software to meet specifications.
• Coordinate the integration of developed software modules with other software and with specialized hardware systems.
• Complete assigned software projects and tasks independently with little oversight.
• Assist new team members with standards, coding practices and code reviews.
• Assist customer service, sales and marketing by providing technical information.
• Interact with customers and other departments for specification input.
• Accept other responsibilities as assigned.
• Complete training as identified by SOPs and procedures.
• Regular attendance is an essential job function.
• Follow CPI and Confidentiality/Non-Solicitation guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
