Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in the Data Technology space within Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) seeks a Lead Software Engineer to guide design and delivery of secure, scalable applications using Java, Python and AWS.

You will provide hands-on engineering leadership across multiple teams and drive best practices in code quality, security, and reliability. This role emphasizes responsible AI usage, architecture decisions, and collaboration with product and operations to support enterprise-wide SDLC

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, or Go) with strong AWS experience.
• Strong experience with AWS services to host APIs, run standalone applications, enable inter-application messaging, and implement event-driven services.
• Experience organizing Terraform workspaces and developing Terraform code (IaC).
• Experience designing and developing microservices and backend services.
• Experience designing backend data models and working with databases.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting), including setting expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers/leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
