Wellington Management Company, LLP is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join the Investment Platform Technology team in Boston. You will design and deliver scalable, full-stack solutions that support investment workflows, collaborating with analysts, QA, and client guideline teams to drive high-quality software.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with solid accomplishments
• Proficiency with Java, Python, and Node.JS
• Strong knowledge of SQL, experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySql
• Experience with AI technologies is a plus
• Experience operating in a DevOps environment with cloud technologies (AWS is a plus)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype and code new user-facing applications and workflows across the full stack – services, web, infrastructure, and back-end
• Lead delivery of high quality business solutions with analysts and QA engineers
• Lead development and implementation of solutions to enhance investor workflows
• Review and qualify business requirements, specifications, use-cases, and test plans
• Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and cross-functional projects
• Modify and enhance existing systems to optimize performance
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members
• Document architecture and design and ensure code quality standards
• Implement AI-driven solutions to enhance workflows
• Ensure stability of production systems with observability, data quality, and on-call support
