Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Houston seeks a Lead Software Engineer to join the Commercial and Investment Bank teams. You will act as a core technical contributor, delivering secure, scalable software and guiding architectural decisions across multiple domains.

You will lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and drive modern practices like CI/CD, automation, and secure coding in a large enterprise setting. Strong Java, API, and cloud fundamentals are required.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Java.
• Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL.
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with Git version control systems.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Java
• Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with Git version control systems.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with IAM concepts and technologies (e.g., OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect)
• Certification in IAM or related security fields.
• Experience working with ForgeRock/Ping Identity
• Knowledge of AWS /Kubernetes
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
