You will own critical engineering decisions, drive performance improvements, and mentor teammates while shipping reliable software on a regular cadence for our Buffalo platform.

Qualifications

• Kafka expertise with practical implementation experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in senior/lead roles.
• Strong written and verbal communication, capable of clear recaps.
• Integrity to own mistakes and communicate transparently.
• Solid knowledge of Nginx and Kafka for performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and Linux libraries.
• Hand off AWS runbooks to improve on-call sleep for the team.
• Negotiate learning tradeoffs with product when timelines clash with reality.
• Build PostgreSQL self-service tools for internal teams in Buffalo.
• Ship incremental platform improvements on a regular cadence.
• Refactor legacy Kafka modules to cleaner state.
• Shave milliseconds off the critical tech path for end users.
• Keep the Swift build pipeline green to avoid deployment delays.
