Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Lead Data Governance Platform Engineer to help build scalable data governance solutions across cloud environments and support business decisions with trusted data.

In this role, you will design MDM and data observability capabilities, collaborate with data stewards and engineers, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining security and compliance. The position requires working from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Six to eight years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS in data governance.
  • Extensive experience in data governance and data lake architectures.
  • Skills in Java, Shell scripting, Python, Spark.
  • Proficient in Linux and distributed systems; comfort with DevOps and Agile.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures (Azure/AWS), Kubernetes and Docker.

Responsibilities

  • Manage data governance capabilities across cloud and hybrid environments.

U.S. Bank is seeking a Lead Data Governance Platform Engineer who will contribute toward the success of our technology initiative developing scalable data governance solutions for the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage data governance capabilities, such as observability, data quality, master data management (MDM), etc. for various workloads within a cloud and across cloud environments.

  • Design scalable MDM solutions, data models, match/merge rules, and multi-system integration pipelines. Provide guidance to engineering and ETL teams.

  • Design and scale our end-to-end data observability capabilities across hybrid cloud or multi-cloud data environments.

  • Collaborate with data stewards to establish data quality rules and compliance policies.

  • Monitor system performance, optimize pipelines, and troubleshoot complex production issues.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to networks, job failures, and performance bottlenecks. Provide on-call support and collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth operations.

  • Deploy and manage containerized applications.

  • Collaborate well across functional teams and business lines to support data governance solutions in the cloud.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Six to eight years of relevant experience

Preferred skills and experiences:

  • Experience in implementing critical systems with secure integration, Active Directory, and Azure SSO, etc.
  • Four to six years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud or AWS.
  • Extensive experience in data governance.
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience inData Lake Architectures.
  • Working knowledge with Java, Shell scripting, Python, Spark languages.
  • Proficiency in Linux and distributed systems
  • Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve system failures and performance.
  • Experience in cloud-native architectures (Azure/AWS), Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
  • Excellent ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Deep understanding of banking, operations, risk, and compliance with technical fluency in business and regulatory acumen.

Location expectations:

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

Pay Range: $148,495.00 - $174,700.00
