Job summary

Gartner is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to lead the US-based Support & Operations team within Conference Technology. You will own technical direction, drive reliability, and shape engineering standards for Gartner’s conferences globally.

You will collaborate with product, QA, analytics, and global teams to reduce incidents, improve resilience, and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 7-10+ years of professional software development experience with production systems.
• Proven experience as a technical lead or with complex systems.
• Strong backend and frontend tech knowledge, and cloud platform expertise.

Responsibilities

• Serves as technical lead for Support & Operations, guiding design decisions for reliability and scalability.
• Enforces coding standards and architectural decisions across applications.
• Leads incident analysis, root cause determination, and permanent improvements.
• Collaborates with product managers, owners, and global teams to translate needs into technical work.
• Manages delivery of operational enhancements with emphasis on quality, security, and observability.
