Capital One is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Plano, TX to lead a portfolio of microservices and full-stack systems, mentoring developers and driving cloud-enabled solutions. You will collaborate with product managers and apply JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go, and AWS tools to deliver robust, scalable software for financial services.

The role requires 4+ years of software engineering experience, cloud experience, and a strong grasp of modern open source frameworks and Agile

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
4+ years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Master's Degree preferred
7+ years of experience in at least one of: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go
3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
1+ years of people management experience
2+ years of experience in Agile practices

Responsibilities

Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
Mentor other members of the engineering community and engage in internal & external technology communities.
Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions for millions of users.
Utilize programming languages like JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, plus AWS tools and container services.
