Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Plano, TX within the Corporate Sector - Data Visualization & BI team. You will be a core technical contributor, delivering scalable, secure software solutions and guiding architectural decisions across multiple business functions.

You will design, develop, and review production code, mentor teammates, and drive automation and modern cloud practices using AWS, Python, Django, React, and Terraform to support trusted data insights and business

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with Django or any web backend framework.
• Experience with React or any modern UI framework.
• Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code principles.
• Solid understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative, solution-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.

• Knowledge of other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) is a plus.
