Job summary

PanBio seeks a Lead Software Engineer to provide architectural leadership while staying hands‑on with design, development, and decision‑making. You will translate scientific and product requirements into scalable systems, guide engineering standards, mentor engineers, and contribute to key platform capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

• Shipped and led full‑stack features end‑to‑end.
• Experience designing architectures for complex apps and distributed systems.
• Built and operated modern web apps and APIs using contemporary stacks.
• Experience with cloud platforms, containers, CI/CD, observability, and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership for PanBio’s platforms.
• Lead design, development, and evolution of software platforms to be scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Establish engineering standards, code quality, and technical documentation.
• Make architectural decisions balancing technical excellence with delivery needs and business priorities.
• Design and review software systems, APIs, data platforms, and cloud integrations across the org.
• Collaborate with scientists and external partners to translate requirements into robust software.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical coaching.
• Identify risks and drive continuous improvement of engineering processes.
• Contribute to software development and hands‑on implementation of key components.
• Support hiring, technical assessment, and growth of the engineering team.
