Job summary

Next Frontier Capital in Jersey City invites a Lead Software Engineer to join the Consumer & Community Banking organization. You will contribute to agile teams that build, enhance, and deliver trusted technology products in a secure, scalable way.

You will design, develop, and troubleshoot production-grade systems; mentor teams; and collaborate with vendors and internal groups to evaluate architectures. The role requires strong Java, Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, cloud experience, and a track record

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in REST API.
• Proficient in Kafka.
• Advanced understanding of multi-region deployments.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Artificial Intelligence (e.g., Co-Pilot, LLM).
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• Cloud infrastructure experience.
• Event-driven architecture experience.

• Develops secure, high-quality production code; reviews and debugs code written by others
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and applicability within existing systems
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• 5+ years of Java experience
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
