Job summary

Audible is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to own end-to-end delivery for Creator Team tools that automate the content production pipeline. You will mentor engineers, shape technical strategy, and drive AI-enabled practices to improve developer productivity and product quality.

You will design scalable architectures, collaborate with product to deliver robust services, and stay current with trends in web apps, security, and cloud services to inspire your peers and listeners alike.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new or existing systems.
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing and operations.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Champion an AI-first development approach to multiply developer productivity and drive AI adoption across the org.
• Determine strategy and where to simplify or extend solutions for best outcomes, promote best practices.
• Mentor and lead developers by fostering curiosity and deep technical understanding.

• Set the technical strategy for the team and align with stakeholders.
• Collaborate to design, develop, test, and launch scalable software that delights customers.
• Clarify technical requirements and estimate work across a broad range of design approaches.
• Drive continuous improvement of software quality, customer experience, and maintainability.
• Stay updated on technology trends and tooling.
