Humana Inc. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to architect and own AI systems, including LLM-based tools, RAG pipelines, and agent orchestration, across care workflows.
You will collaborate with product, clinicians, and data teams, ensuring HIPAA compliance and responsible AI practices while delivering scalable production solutions. Applicants should have 8+ years in software engineering with 4+ years in production AI/ML and strong Python/Typescript skills.
The Lead Software Engineer codes software applications based on business requirements. The Lead Software Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
The Lead Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$129,300 - $177,800 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
