Job description

At Anima, you’ll help us extend the 3 existing product lines used by millions of patients and develop new ones at the forefront of healthcare reinforcement learning and agentic AI. Your work will contribute to saving lives.

We’ve been building towards this vision with one of the largest, highest-quality labelled datasets in the world.

Our current products include two fully functional web apps: one for clinical users and one for patients. Our technology stack is primarily in JS/TS: Angular + Capacitor + Electron, React (for internal tools), Amplitude (analytics), and a fully serverless backend on AWS (Cognito, Appsync GraphQL, Lambda, DynamoDB). We maintain good functional and unit test coverage, with CI/CD practices in place. Our stack is scalable, cost-effective, secure, performant, and easy to maintain, with minimal operational overhead. The product and codebase are stable and well-loved by our users, enabling rapid development, testing, deployment, and feature releases.

First month - what to expect:

1. Assist in integrating key third-party APIs, including legacy EMR systems and national services like electronic prescribing, enabling direct prescription issuance.
2. Improve our proprietary graph traversal algorithm to enhance patient care and clinical value, transitioning from explicit to implicit curation via neural networks.
3. Ship impactful features that will increase lives saved within your first two weeks.
4. Participate in customer calls to understand their core motivations, needs, and pain points.

Next 6 months - what to expect:

1. Design and deploy a scalable, cost-effective ETL data pipeline with version control, producing clean data for tokenization.
2. Implement our deep learning training and validation architecture into production to support system evolution.
3. Develop advanced products such as context-aware chat with semantic search, care orchestration, and LLM-enabled cloud telephony.
4. Assist in hiring and scaling the team, establishing efficient processes to maximize productivity and minimize development time.

6+ months - potential future roles:

1. Transition into a managerial or executive role, leading a team of engineers dedicated to healthcare innovation.
2. Collaborate with the ML/data team to enhance ETL pipeline throughput and quality through data-driven insights.
