Job summary

Capital One seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive a portfolio of diverse technology projects and mentor a team of developers. You will collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that serve millions of Americans, guiding architecture across microservices and full-stack systems.

You will code in JavaScript/Java/TypeScript/Python/Go, work with Docker and Kubernetes, and utilize AWS tools and AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 4+ years of software engineering experience; internship not counted.
• At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Preferred: Master’s degree.
• 7+ years of experience in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
• 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks.
• 1+ year of people management experience.
• 2+ years of Agile practices.
