Job summary

Insight Global in Virginia is seeking a software design and development lead to drive the long-term viability of custom solutions for the Luck Stone business unit. This role will lead the design of web and mobile applications, web services, and middleware, coordinating with business and technology teams to ensure architecture-aligned outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IS and 10+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems is required.
• 10 years related experience, or equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
• Strong communication skills to build business understanding of technology application.
• Experience using SQL Server to support business applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead design & development and ensure long-term viability of custom solutions for the Luck Stone unit.
• Develop custom applications including web or mobile apps, web services, and middleware (data integration).
• Collaborate with business unit generalists and staff to align solutions with architectures and strategies.
• Work with engineering staff and partners when OT solutions (scales, PLCs) are involved.

Day to Day

This position is responsible for leading the design & development, and ensuring the long-term viability of custom solutions, working primarily in the Luck Stone business unit. Solutions to include custom developed applications including web or mobile applications, web services, and middleware solutions such as data integration. Collaborates heavily with business unit generalists and business unit staff to understand business strategies and needs, and with technology staff and partners to align solutions with technical & information architectures. Also works closely with engineering staff and partners when solutions involve Operational Technologies such as scales, PLCs, etc.
