Job summary

Mine Equipment & Design, LLC seeks a Shop Detailing and Drawing Manager to lead the Ohio Division’s detailing function. You will oversee 2D/3D fabrication drawings, coordinate with Lakeland Engineering, and drive the transition from Autodesk Inventor to SolidWorks.

The role requires substantial fabrication-detailing experience, strong drafting QC/approval capability, and the ability to supervise detailing staff in a hands‑on CAD environment.

Qualifications

• Formal post‑secondary education in CAD, drafting, mechanical design tech or closely related field.
• Certificate, diploma, or associate degree is acceptable; engineering degree not required.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Relevant Autodesk or SolidWorks certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Ohio detailing workload, including project intake, priorities, assignments, schedules, field verifications, backlog, staffing needs, and delivery commitments.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership, coaching, and support to detailers and CAD users while establishing drawing quality, productivity, and revision-control expectations.
• Create, revise, and oversee development of accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for heavy‑industrial fabrication, repair, machining, assembly, and installation work.
• Convert customer drawings, specifications, sketches, field measurements, scan/model data into complete shop‑ready deliverables.
• Ensure drawings communicate dimensions, materials, welds, tolerances, interfacing, BOMs, and revision status for fabrication.
