Job summary

K9s For Warriors in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL is seeking a Lead K9 Trainer to guide the training of service dogs for veterans, under supervision of the Assistant K9 Training Manager. The role includes coordinating a training team, tailoring programs, and ensuring complete documentation.

You will oversee training progress, conduct evaluations, and provide public access exposure in busy environments. Strong leadership, certification, and prior supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited dog training school or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review training logs and class summaries; document training times.
• Assist in compiling sponsor updates, class bios, and dog summaries.
• Create weekly public access plans with locations and objectives.
• Set training objectives and public access goals; develop weekly schedules.
• Coordinate meetings between trainers and manager regarding training concerns.
• Independently modify dogs’ behavior and train basic to advanced service dog tasks.
• Maintain detailed records of training, evaluation, and medical notes.
• Provide public access exposure in varied environments to service dogs in training.
