Job summary

Discovery Senior Living's Conservatory at North Austin is seeking a Lead Server to enrich residents' lives through exceptional dining service, hospitality, and teamwork.

This full-time position, located at 14320 Tandem Blvd, Austin, TX, offers evenings and weekends pay rate of $17/hour; you will lead and train new servers, ensure dining room readiness, and provide a welcoming, high-quality dining experience for residents and guests.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of previous fine dining experience required, with lead experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, guests, and team members.
• Interest in working with a senior population and experience in Senior Living preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to respond to resident needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide proper dining room setup, meal service, and dining room cleanliness.
• Take meal and beverage orders and serve meals in a friendly, timely manner.
• Ensure residents and guests are satisfied with dining experience.
• Train and support new servers and assist with orientation.
• Maintain safety, sanitation, and loss prevention procedures.
• Assist with opening/closing checklists and dining room flow.
• Support special events and inventory maintenance.

Your Role

As a Lead Server, you will support dining room operations by providing excellent meal service, maintaining dining room readiness, and assisting with training and support of new servers. This role plays a key part in ensuring a welcoming, organized, and high-quality dining experience for residents and guests.

What You’ll Do

• Provide proper dining room setup, meal service, and dining room cleanliness
• Take meal and beverage orders and serve meals in a friendly, timely manner
• Ensure residents and guests are satisfied with their dining experience
• Maintain knowledge of daily specials, menu items and explain offerings to residents & guests
• Maintain dining room is in a clean, organized, and ready state
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
• Support & lead servers with day-to-day dining room operations
• Assist with orientation and training of new servers
• Practice all safety, sanitation, and loss prevention procedures
• Set up and clean the dining room while maintaining hospitality and service standards
• Maintain standards of appearance, cleanliness, personal sanitation, and hygiene
• Complete opening and/or closing checklists, as assigned
• Assist with dining room flow, organization, and supply placement
• Support special events and assist with tabletop inventory maintenance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Two (2) years of previous fine dining experience required; one of which as Lead, preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, guests, and team members
• Ability to read and follow safety rules, procedures, and instructions
• Demonstrated interest in working with a senior population
• Experience serving in Senior Living, highly preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a courteous and friendly demeanor
• Ability to respond promptly to resident needs
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work flexible hours as needed
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrates good judgment and sound decision-making abilities
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
