Job summary

Longhorn Village in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Lead Server to courteously and professionally serve residents and guests in the dining rooms. You will maintain a neat work area and inform your supervisor of food needs and resident questions.

Under the supervision of the Dining Room Manager, you will set up, serve, and break down special functions, train new servers, and ensure policies and safety standards are followed while providing friendly, attentive service.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation and positive attitude.
• Ability to motivate staff while maintaining relationships with residents and staff.
• Reliable and capable of working with a team in a senior living environment.

Responsibilities

• Courteously and professionally serve meals to residents and guests.
• Familiarizes new servers with dining policies and procedures.
• Trains new servers on proper service techniques and ensures staff training.
• Inform Dining Room Manager on the status of new trainees.
• Performs pre-opening and closing checklist duties as assigned.
• Alert a supervisor of concerns or problems pertaining to residents and guests.
• Attend in-service training seminars when scheduled.
• Must work one weekend shift per week.
• Takes food and beverage orders and provides service to residents and guests.
• Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in line with OSHA standards.
• Cooperates with coworkers to ensure a smooth department operation.
• Follow dining services policies and procedures.

Who You Are:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Lead Server. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationships with staff and residents. Position Summary:

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent, but not necessary.
• Must be 18 years of age or older to serve alcohol.
• Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal directions.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and work cooperatively with other associates.
• Must be able to lift 20 lbs to shoulder height.
• Must be able to push 200 lbs on a cart with casters.
