Job summary

The Lead Server at Trilogy Bickford Ranch will provide prompt and courteous service in the restaurant, bar, and patio, assuming leadership roles as directed by the Food & Beverage Manager. You will greet guests, explain menu items, relay orders to kitchen and bar, and ensure an outstanding guest experience in a fast-paced resort setting.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma preferred.
  • One year related server experience preferred.
  • Must meet the state and federal minimum age requirement for serving alcohol.
  • Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification (Training for Intervention Procedures).
  • Ability to understand and implement BSRG dining standards.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; must be able to calculate discounts and percentages.
  • Positive attitude to contribute to a productive and friendly work environment.
  • Ability to provide direction to coworkers in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memorandums.
  • Ability to speak effectively and present information to another person and in small group situations with guests and team members.
  • Attention to details and comfort working in a fast‑paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
  • Flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve guests in an energetic and friendly fashion.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere and provide excellent hospitality by having a working knowledge of the resort facility and dining area, and be able to respond to guest questions about the menu and speak with enthusiasm about other resort services.
  • Write orders; relay food orders to the kitchen and beverage orders to the bartender.
  • Serve food and beverages and clear tables following service etiquette and facility procedures.
  • Connect with guests at assigned tables throughout the dining experience to assure all guest needs are met and excellent service is provided.
  • Work as a team, provide direction to other servers when directed by the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Check identification to assure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Handle cash and card transactions, ensure charges are accurate and return correct change to guests.
  • Notice and report potential safety issues or customer concerns to a supervisor.
  • Provide training in serving and clearing etiquette and facility procedures, safely carrying trays, and procedures for working with kitchen and bartending staff.
  • Oversee the timing for the end of employee shifts and sign out employees.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job description

Trilogy Bickford Ranch

Located within the Bickford Master Plan is Trilogy®, a brand‑new 55+ community in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Coming soon is the social hub of the community: The Ridge Wellness Social Club. This planned club perched high on a ridge features stunning views of the surrounding area and a variety of amenities, including a resort pool, restaurant, and both indoor and outdoor venues for socializing, fitness, and more.

Pay

$19 per hour

Benefits
  • Medical, dental and life insurance plans for new hourly full‑time team members working 30 hours or more per week, effective the first of the month following 60 days of full‑time employment.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual for full‑time team members at a rate of 120 hours per year.
  • 7 paid holidays annually for full‑time team members.

Position Overview

The Lead Server serves food and beverages, providing prompt and courteous service to guests in the restaurant, bar, and patio. Lead Servers are responsible for leadership roles, as requested by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Assistant Food & Beverage Manager. This position reports to the Food & Beverage Manager.

Work Environment

This position typically operates in an indoor restaurant setting, but an employee may also be required to work on a patio or for an outdoor event, with exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally native wildlife. The noise level can be loud. Outdoor environments may require walking on variable terrain while carrying items and navigating typical event obstacles, including groups of people, table set‑ups and decorations, plants and the natural landscape.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to see, speak, and hear. The position is very active and requires standing and walking for most of a work shift. The position requires lifting, balancing and carrying, bending, reaching and serving from trays weighing up to 20 pounds. Frequent hand washing is required. The employee must see restaurant menus, take customer orders, review customer bills, navigate busy work areas, speak clearly and understand speech in a noisy atmosphere.
