Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, LLC is seeking a Lead Server to courteously serve residents and guests, supervise daily server assignments, and train staff to ensure a smooth dining experience. The role includes maintaining cleanliness in dining and serving areas and supporting events and take-out service.

You will oversee seating and meal timing, assist with interviews and onboarding, and uphold confidentiality and professional standards while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED.
• Serv-Safe certification must be secured and maintained.
• Ability to read and follow simple instructions.
• Able to communicate effectively and work under supervision.
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Serve resident and guest meals courteously and reset dining room after service.
• Supervise daily assignments of servers and provide training.
• Maintain clean kitchen, serving area, and dining room.
• Oversee seating, timing of meals, and dining experience.
• Handle take-out orders and assist with tray service.

621 McGovern Road, Hockessin, Delaware 19707Job DescriptionThe Lead Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service. The Lead Server is also responsible for supervising the daily assignments of the servers, ensuring proper training, as well as ensuring proper coverage to meet the business needs.Maintain a good working knowledge of all dining room and kitchen responsibilities and procedures Understands basic kitchen equipment operation (food processor, dishwasher, beverage machine, etc.) Maintain a clean work area in the kitchen, serving area, and dining room Understands proper table setting for each meal Maintains schedule for the servers to include call outs and coverage for all assigned shifts. Maintain daily assignments for the servers Assists with the interviewing and hiring process of applicants for Lead Server positions Conducts training for all new and current servers Maintains the daily food orders Required to post new menus daily/weekly Oversees seating and timing of meals and dining experience Oversees the process and set up for special events Assists residents when placing orders from the menu and the completion of take-out orders Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea) Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor Understands sit-down service and proper serving techniques Has a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.) Knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room Attends required in-services and staff meetings Must be attentive to special needs of residents including: mobility deficits, memory impairment, etc.) Assists with tray service Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident and associate information Interacts in a polite considerate manner to residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors Resolves complaints Completes all other duties assigned Requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or GED Must secure and maintain Serv-Safe certification Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene Must be able to read and follow simple instructions Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet Must be organized and willing to work well with other associates.
