Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Ohio to join a family-owned consultancy known for client relationships and long-term partnerships. You will lead project delivery, mentor junior staff, manage client communications, and drive technical excellence across healthcare, education, and commercial projects.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, have 5+ years of experience, and can supervise projects from conception through construction while collaborating with architects, owners

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager and Engineer of Record on structural projects.
• Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
• Perform and oversee structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems.
• Review and approve calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and other design disciplines.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Conduct site visits and constructability reviews.
• Support business development including proposals and client presentations.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll play a key role in project delivery, client management, mentorship, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Structural design and analysis for a variety of building types
• Project management and client communication
• Leading project teams and coordinating with architects and contractors

What We're Looking For

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager and Engineer of Record on structural engineering projects
• Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
• Perform and oversee structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems
• Review and approve calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and other design disciplines
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
• Conduct site visits, field observations, and constructability reviews
• Support business development efforts including proposals and client presentations
• Uphold quality control standards and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations

Required Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience, including project management responsibility
• Experience leading projects and interfacing directly with clients
• Strong background in steel and concrete design (exposure to industrial or complex projects a plus)
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, RAM, STAAD, Enercalc)
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining technical quality and deadlines
