Job summary

Providence Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle seeks a role to lead daily department operations, adjust schedules, and monitor adherence to Washington State Food Code. The position provides leadership in the absence of supervision and delegates duties to keep tasks on track.

You will orient/train staff, disseminate information, and may run shift meetings. This role requires strong communication and cross-training to ensure coverage in emergent situations.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• National Food Handler Card required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily department operations including schedule adjustments and monitoring for policy compliance.
• Provide direction to staff and act as person in charge when supervisor is absent.
• Delegate daily duties to ensure timely completion and assign cross-training to nutrition positions.
• Orient and train staff; disseminate information and run shift meetings/huddles as needed.
• Serve as liaison between management, caregivers, and other departments.

Job description

Responsible for leading the daily operations of the department, including schedule adjustments and monitoring activities to verify compliance with established policies and standards. Provides leadership and direction to staff in coordination with and in the absence of a supervisor's presence. Assumes role of "person in charge" when required, in accordance with Washington State Food Code. Responsible for the delegation of daily duties to ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner. Assists with orienting and training staff. Assists with the dissemination of information and may run shift meetings and huddles as assigned. Communication liaison between the management team, caregivers and other departments. Responsible for cross training to each nutrition position to assure competence so that support can be provided in an emergent situation and to assure lead has a full understanding of the expectations of each position.

Required Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Upon hire: National Food Handler Card - State County City Authority

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of Institutional, Restaurant, Hotel, or Healthcare food service experience
• 1 year of leadership experience
