Job summary

Walden Security seeks a Security Lead to act as liaison with staff, management, law enforcement and emergency services, ensuring compliance with security policies and post orders. The lead will cover day shifts 0600-1400 and coordinate coverage for other shifts as needed.

The role requires mobility for walking and driving patrols across multiple locations, plus training staff on procedures, emergency response, and equipment use.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Minimum age 25 to be covered under Walden Security auto insurance.
• Experience supervising security officers and enforcing post orders.

Responsibilities

• Supervise on-duty security officers and ensure adherence to post orders.
• Patrol assigned posts by foot or company vehicle and perform inspections.
• Coordinate shift coverage and communicate with supervisors and managers.
• Train staff on procedures, emergency response, and equipment use.
• Document daily events in reports and notify supervisors of urgent issues.
• Respond to emergencies and notify authorities as needed.

The lead will serve as a liaison with staff, management, law enforcement and emergency services. The lead will ensure compliance with security polices and post orders.

This is a day shift position 0600-1400 but the lead must be available to assist if there is the need for coverage on a different shift. The lead will coordinate coverage in the case of an absence of staff.The lead will train staff on procedures, emergency response, and equipment use; recommend corrective actions and training opportunities. The lead will ensure all the fleet is in good working order and initiate report/repair with the fleet manager. This position requires a high level of mobility, lead will also do walking a driving patrols of multiple locations

Candidate must have a valid drivers license, acceptable driving record and be at least 25 years old to be covered under the Walden Security Auto Insurance.

Duties may include the following; other duties may be assigned by the Operations Manager or Branch General Manager:

• Responsible for the performance of the Security Officers on duty of your shift;


• Has a working knowledge and understanding of the Specific and General Post instructions for post(s). Has practical knowledge of all additional and emergency post instructions that are called for by the client;


• Patrols post assigned by walking or using company provided vehicle where applicable;


• Conducts inspections of Post and Security Officers for proper compliance with the specific Post Orders, Walden Security procedures and general knowledge of post assignment;


• Informs the Post supervisor, Roving or Field Supervisors and the Operations Manager of matters/issues that cannot wait until the next workday;


• Records the daily events of their post on the Officers Daily Reports (ODR) which will be reviewed by the Post Supervisor, Roving or Field Supervisors and the Operations Manager;


• Registers at watch stations to record time of inspection trips and contracted random inspections.


• Assists in conducting on-the-job-training for newly assigned Security Officers as necessary;


• Responds to urgent client needs/requests for services or changes to services;


• Properly notifies authorities (supervisors, police or fire department, client, etc.) of emergency situations and/or post order violations;


• Examines doors, windows, and gates of assigned posts to determine that they are secure;


• Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts;

Receives general direction from the Post Supervisor, Roving or Field Supervisors, or Operations Manager. Exercises direct supervision of all the site's Security Officers. Provides input to the management in regards to operation, status of posts and Security Officers.
