Position Overview

A leading financial services organization is seeking a hands-on AI Security Lead Engineer to help establish and develop its enterprise AI security framework.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced security engineer to take ownership of emerging AI security initiatives and become a recognized subject matter expert within the organization. The individual will work closely with software development, cloud engineering, enterprise architecture, risk, and governance teams to establish security standards, develop technical guardrails, and enable the secure adoption of AI technologies.

This is an individual contributor position with significant technical ownership and visibility. The ideal candidate has a strong background in application security, software security, cloud security, or offensive security, combined with hands-on experience securing AI/ML and Generative AI environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Help design and establish an enterprise AI security framework, including technical standards, security controls, and implementation guardrails.
• Assess AI/ML applications, LLMs, APIs, data pipelines, and AI-powered solutions for security vulnerabilities and risks.
• Partner directly with software development and engineering teams to integrate security into AI development and deployment.
• Identify and mitigate emerging AI security threats, including prompt injection, data exposure, unauthorized access, and model misuse.
• Translate enterprise security policies and regulatory requirements into practical, actionable technical controls.
• Develop secure architectural patterns and reusable security solutions for AI adoption.
• Leverage cloud security technologies and automation to establish scalable security controls.
• Collaborate with Risk, Governance, Compliance, and Enterprise Architecture teams to support secure AI implementation.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert and lead AI security initiatives across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, application security, cloud security, or security engineering.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs, or securing AI-powered applications and platforms.
• Strong technical foundation in software security, application security, cloud security, or offensive security engineering.
• Experience identifying vulnerabilities, evaluating attack surfaces, and implementing security controls.
• Understanding of AI/ML architectures, LLMs, RAG pipelines, AI agents, and associated security risks.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud environments; experience with AWS Bedrock is a plus.
• Knowledge of IAM, API security, data protection, encryption, and cloud security best practices.
• Experience with security automation, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices.
• Ability to work directly with development teams and translate security requirements into engineering solutions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions across multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience securing Generative AI, LLM platforms, AI agents, or RAG-based applications.
• Background in ethical hacking, penetration testing, application security, or AI red teaming.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, or other enterprise AI platforms.
• Familiarity with AI governance, Model Risk Management, NIST, and financial services regulatory requirements.
• Experience working within banking, financial services, or another regulated environment.
