Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant technical discipline.
• 3+ years industrial R&D applying thermal and chemical characterization.
• 3+ years with LECO and ICP analyses.
• 3+ years characterizing multiple material classes (alloys, ceramics, coatings, polymers).
• 3+ years designing experiments and defending technical conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Act as enterprise SME for thermal and chemical analysis across programs.
• Design, execute, and interpret thermal characterization experiments (DSC, TGA, SDT, DVA).
• Perform chemical analyses using LECO and ICP techniques.
• Apply first-principles thermodynamics and kinetics to interpret data and support conclusions.
• Characterize diverse material systems (alloys, ceramics, coatings, polymers).
• Define characterization strategies and plans to answer engineering questions.
• Develop, validate, and document new analytical methods.
• Lead complex data interpretation and correlate with microstructure and performance.
• Support failure analysis and root cause investigations.
