Job summary

St. Jude is seeking a Lead Researcher for the Center of Excellence for Pediatric Immuno-Oncology (CEPIO) to advance the I-O modeling core.

The role focuses on executing preclinical in vivo studies, tumor implantation, and immuno-oncology therapeutic evaluations in murine cancer models. The position entails guiding study execution, documenting data rigorously, and collaborating with lab and animal facility staff to optimize workflows and SOPs under the head of the CEPIO I‑O modeling core.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific area is required.
• 5+ years of research experience; 2+ with a Master's; no specific requirement with a PhD.
• Strong hands-on experience with murine cancer models and preclinical immuno-oncology studies.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform preclinical in vivo studies using established or modified protocols.
• Execute assigned study activities, including animal scheduling, treatments, procedures, sample collection, and study endpoints.
• Perform murine procedures for preclinical cancer and immuno-oncology studies, including tumor implantation, therapeutic administration by multiple routes, survival procedures, monitoring, and tissue collection.
• Perform wet-laboratory procedures supporting preclinical studies, including cell culture, tissue processing, nucleic acid and protein preparation, PCR/genotyping, and molecular/immune assays.
• Implement established or modified protocols with limited guidance and troubleshoot experiments.
• Document procedures, treatments, observations, samples, and study records; summarize results.
• Maintain schedules and records for multiple concurrent studies; coordinate with CEPIO staff.
• Contribute to development, optimization, and documentation of SOPs.
