Job summary

Catalent's Kansas City facility is seeking a Pharmaceutical Development Lead Scientist I to lead formulation design and development of oral solid dosage forms and oversee clinical manufacturing activities. You will design experiments and author technical documents while ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory standards.

The role requires strong data interpretation, leadership, and collaboration, with a BS in a life/physical science and 11+ years' experience; advanced degrees preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a life or physical science with 11+ years of related work experience preferred.
• Strong data interpretation and regulatory knowledge with ability to assess impact of changes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external customers.
• Ability to provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to a technical team.
• Experience in preparing technical documents and ensuring regulatory compliance (GMP/CMC).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute laboratory work plans and schedules for self and junior team members.
• Author and approve protocols, test methods, reports, COAs and SOPs.
• Review technical documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Train, coach and mentor others on technical and personal development.
• Supervise technical staff and manage performance.
• Act as technical lead on projects with responsibility for outcomes and customer interaction.
• Identify and implement efficiency improvement projects.
• Engage with clients during team and ad-hoc meetings with minimal supervision.
• Maintain high-quality laboratory documentation per regulatory guidance.
