Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field with 2+ years AI focus OR MS with 5+ years AI focus.
• Demonstrated ability to write Python code.
• Familiarity with GenAI packages and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience in training domain-specific LLMs, time-series or multi-modal models, or knowledge graphs with LLMs.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Research, conceptualize, and develop AI solutions for hard industrial problems

• Lead projects and collaborate with teams of peer researchers on new and continuing projects

• Demonstrate value of AI through early prototypes and solutions for real-world problems

• Employ software libraries, tools, and practices to implement efficient, scalable, and reusable solutions

• Create intellectual property by writing invention disclosures and filing patents

• Publish research work to scientific journals and conferences

• Write and/or support grant proposals

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields and a minimum of 2 years of work experience with a focus on Artificial Intelligence
  OR
  MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields with a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a focus on Artificial Intelligence

• Demonstratedabilityto write Python code

• Familiarity with GenAI packages including models from OpenAI, Google, Meta, etc. and ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: (a) Training domain-specific large language models (LLM), (b) Development of time-series or multi-modal foundation models, (c) Building and leveraging knowledge graphs with LLMs for reasoning and memory, (d) Integrating physics in scientific machinelearning models

• Must have work authorization for the US.

• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY

Desired Characteristics

• Demonstratedabilityto lead AI projects

• Strong communication skills for engaging stakeholders, defining key problems, and sharing progress and outcomes.

• Experience writing and executing grant-supported research, including successful proposal development and communication with government agencies (e.g., DoE, ARPA-E, DoD, DARPA).

• Experience contributing to open-source codebases and/or a significant portfolio of public work (e.g., on GitHub).

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
