Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (recognized by TEA)
• Valid Texas CDL (B) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
• Clean driving record; subject to background check and safety trainings
• Willingness to complete bus driver safety training and TEA certification

Responsibilities

• Supervise bus departures and loading areas at the assigned school
• Train new bus drivers and monitors prior to safety certification
• Assist dispatch and coordinate route planning with the transportation director
• Maintain records of bus mileage, fuel use, and passengers
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections; ensure safe operation of buses
• Instruct students on safe entering/exiting and riding practices
