Job description

Overview

Ramos CS, now part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is an engineering, program, and construction management firm providing quality transit, transportation, and infrastructure consulting services on public projects across the Western United States. We focus our solutions on mobility-related projects that serve the needs of our communities within the municipal, transit, transportation, airport, and port sectors.

With a staff of diversified, licensed professionals, our philosophy stems from the idea that successful project execution starts with people.

We are seeking a Lead Scheduler to lead scheduling functions within the Project Controls group of the Construction Management Consultant (CMC) team on a light rail extension program's trackwork and systems construction contract. The Lead Scheduler performs complex reviews and analysis of the Contractor's Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for contract compliance, maintains the Owner's as-built schedule, evaluates time impacts, and advises the Resident Engineer and the Authority on schedule risk, delay mitigation, and inter-contract milestones. The work is performed in accordance with the Authority's Construction Management Manual and the contract documents.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and responds to the Contractor's preliminary and baseline construction schedules, monthly schedule updates, and Time Impact Analysis (TIA) submissions for contract compliance.
  • Writes and reviews schedule comments, and supports the Resident Engineer in coordinating resolution with the Contractor.
  • Maintains a parallel as-built schedule from the Owner's perspective to document actual progress and impacts not captured in the Contractor's schedule.
  • Develops time impact analyses to support change order negotiations, and prepares delay and claim analysis scenarios as requested.
  • Prepares workaround schedules and identifies delay mitigation and schedule improvement opportunities, with their cost and schedule implications.
  • Monitors interface milestones with other construction contracts and flags impacts to the integrated project schedule.
  • Tracks schedule and submittal review status to support timely completion of monthly update reviews.
  • Prepares a concise monthly schedule narrative highlighting activities of concern, and leads the schedule-related portions of monthly reports.
  • Provides scheduling support for "what-if" scenario studies and special graphical and tabular reports.
  • Uses Oracle Primavera P6 to maintain and analyze schedules.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Approximately 10+ years of construction scheduling experience, including 5+ years in direct support of active construction projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Experience reviewing contractor CPM schedules and preparing time impact analyses on public infrastructure projects; transit or rail experience preferred.
  • Relevant certification such as AACE PSP or PMI-SP preferred.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Seattle.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
